What do patio blinds cost?
Every blind is made to measure, so the exact price depends on the size of the opening and the fabric. As a guide, a 3 m × 2.7 m patio blind — Docril with clear PVC windows, or Sheerweave mesh, on a gear-and-crank mechanism — starts at R6,900, and motorisation can be added for R5,400. What is the difference between patio blinds and awnings?
Blinds drop vertically to close a patio in at the sides; awnings reach out overhead to shade it. Most patios that catch wind need both — an awning over the top and blinds down the open side.
Which blind stops the fabric flapping in wind?
The ones held in channels. Side-track and full-track systems run the fabric edges inside tracks, so the blind stays put instead of billowing. A plain drop blind will move in wind by design.
What fabrics do you use for patio blinds?
Docril acrylic and Sheerweave sunscreen, both chosen for UV stability under Highveld sun, plus marine-grade clear PVC where you want to keep the view. Ripstop where budget is the deciding factor.
